3.    HRC Coalition Members File Joint Comments on Enloe Hydroelectric Project
HRC Coalition members in Washington State filed comments on the Enloe Hydroelectric Project on the Similkameen River.  Due to the inadequate analysis of the record, Coalition members found this project to be not yet ready for Environmental Analysis.

4.    PG&E Gets a Green Light for Removal of Wildcat Dam
PG&E has received FERC approval for its plan to decommission the Wildcat dam, a part of the Battle Creek hydroelectric project (P-1121). According to the “Wildcat Dam Decommissioning Plan,” removal will happen between May 1 and September 1.

5.    Staff Recommend Licensing of Saluda Hydro Project In South Carolina
The FERC staff issued a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the 207.3 MW Saluda hydroelectric project on the Saluda River in Lexington, Richland, Newberry, and Saluda counties, South Carolina.

1.    DOE Announces Funding Opportunity for Marine and Hydrokinetic Technology Development
On March 10, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced its intent to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for the advancement of marine and hydrokinetic technology. The FOA, entitled "Marine and Hydrokinetic Technology Readiness Advancement Initiative," will solicit applications for projects to advance the development of technologies that generate renewable electricity from waves, currents, tides, free-flowing rivers, and the ocean's thermal energy.

2.    The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) Is Seeking Public Comment on Draft NEPA Guidance
On February 18, 2010, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) proposed four steps to modernize and reinvigorate the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  As one of those steps, CEQ has released draft guidance for public comment on when and how Federal agencies must consider greenhouse gas emissions and climate change in their proposed actions.
