Description

The project is located in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. The hydroelectric facilities were constructed in 1990 utilizing an existing outlet of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Abiquiu Dam and Reservoir on the Rio Chama river, a tributary of the Rio Grande.

The project consists of a powerhouse containiing two units at 5.5 MW. FERC approved the addition of another 3MW unit in February 2006 through a license amendment.
