Bar Mills

Description

The Bar Mills Project consists of a 364-foot-long, 7-foot-high concrete gravity dam that impounds a 263-acre, 5.3-mile-long reservoir. The powerhouse contains two 2.0-MW generating units that discharge water into a 200-foot-long tailrace.

Project power is transmitted through a 30-foot-long, 34/2.4 kilovolt (kV) transmission line connected to the regional gri.

 

Issues

License requires new construction of upstream passage facility for American eel and other anadromous species.

Bar Mills project in Maine licensed for 40 years

Last week, FERC issued a 40-year license for continued operation of Bar Mills hydroelectric project in York County, Maine.
