Description
The project consists of six developments, which include five powerhouses, two storage reservoirs (Bass Lake and Chilkoot Lake), four smaller impoundments (three forebays and one afterbay), and a network of diversions, tunnels and conduits. The project uses water from the North and South Forks of Willow Creek, and several smaller streams.
The project occupies approximately 738 acres of federal lands within Sierra National Forest, approximately 40 miles northeast of the city of Fresno in Modesto County, California. Crane Valley Dam is located on North Fork Willow Creek, in the San Joaquin River Basin.
