Broadening the Hydro Base in Washington State

Over the past several months, Coalition members have worked to broaden the energy base in Washington State by promoting efficiency upgrades at existing dams, focusing on new renewable energy technologies, and opposing new dam construction where this would lead to marginal new energy at a high environmental cost. 


FERC opens pathway to 2011 removal of Condit Dam

On April 21, 2011 FERC issued its order dismissing PacifiCorp's request for extension of time to push Condit dam removal to 2012.


Condit Dam 401 Released

On October 12th, Washington's Dept. of Ecology released its final 401 Water Quality Certificate for removal of Condit Dam on the White Salmon River.

Morgan Falls licensed for 30 years

FERC has granted a 30-year license for operation of the Morgan Falls hydroelectric project located on the Chattahoochee River about 12 miles upstream of Atlanta, Georgia.


Enloe Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 12569

Public Utility District No. 1 of Okanogan County (PUD, Washington) filed its Draft License Application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on November 7, 2007. The public comment period on this draft is due by February 4th.


First ILP License Issued for Montana's Mystic Lake Project

On December 17th, FERC issued its first license for a project using the Integrated Licensing Process (ILP), Mystic Lake on West Rose Bud Creek in Montana. FERC # P-2301.
