California' s Department of Water Resources officially filed its application for a new license for the Oroville project. From DWR' s January 26th press release:

SACRAMENTO, Calif.-- The Department of Water Resources (DWR) today filed an application for a new federal license to operate its Oroville Facilities -- the heart of the State Water Project.


FERC receives first license application for tidal hydrokinetic project

AquaEnergy Group filed a license application with FERC for its proposed Makah Bay tidal hydrokinetic project (P-12751). While FERC has already issued several preliminary permits for tidal hydrokinetic projects, this will be the first licensing of a tidal project.


Mammoth Pool license application open for comment

Southern California Edison filed a license application for its 190 MW Mammoth Pool Project in California's San Joaquin watershed in November 2005. Comments, protests, and motions to intervene are due on February 3, 2007.


License application filed on McKenzie River

Eugene Water and Electric Board has submitted its license application for the Carmen-Smith project on Oregon's McKenzie River. The deadline for additional study requests is January 23, 2007. For more details, see the FERC notice.


FERC solicits comments on Blue Lake license application
