An independent analysis of the merits of the proposed $4.5 billion hydropower project on the Susitna River in Alaska suggests  the project is not an effective solution to Alaska’s impending energy problem.

A Hydropower Resource Assessment performed by the Bureau of Reclamation for its existing sites, including dams, diversions, canals, and tunnels, estimates that there is potential to add 225MW of capacity at the Bureau’s sites.

Clark Canyon Hydro has received a license to add hydropower to an existing dam on the Beaverhead river in Beaver County, Montana.
