Jan Konigsberg jointly represents the Hydropower Reform Coalition and the Natural Heritage Institute in hydropower licensing matters in Alaska. Jan earned a bachelor’s degree at Reed College in Oregon and a master’s in philosophy at the University of Montana. For six years, Jan worked for the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. From 1983 to 1990, he was the Lands Director for the Montana Land Reliance land trust,  then  distinguished as holding the most acreage under conservation easements of any independent land trust in the nation. In 1990, Jan moved to Alaska to become the first executive director of the Alaska Conservation Foundation. From 1999 through 2003, Jan established Trout Unlimited’s first Alaska office to direct the Alaska Salmonid Biodiversity Program. Jan lives with his family in Anchorage.
