Jan Konigsberg works jointly for the Hydropower Reform Coalition and the Alaska Public Waters Coalition (APWC) on hydropower licensing in Alaska. He also serves as an APWC steering committee member, originally derived from his previous position as Director of the Alaska Field Office of Trout Unlimited, which he founded in 2000. Before working for TU, Jan was the first executive director of the Alaska Conservation Foundation. Jan focuses on the present state rulemaking to transfer licensing jurisdiction from FERC to the State of Alaska for hydropower projects that generate 5 megawatts or less, and the Cooper Creek licensing in Chugach National Forest. Jan lives with his wife in Anchorage.
