Pike Island : P-3218
- Ohio R
- 49.50 MW
- CITY OF ORRVILLE, OHIO (CITY)
The project would be located on the Army Corp’s Pike Island L&D on the Ohio River at Tiltonsville, OH.
The license was previously surrendered and conditionally accepted by FERC in 1993 and again reinstated in 1999. The project was never constructed.
The City surrendered the license for this project and FERC approved the surrender in Feb 2010. The City determined that it was not feasible to continue project development due to, among other things, unexpected and significant increases in equipment costs, declines in power market prices, and uncertainty over the project schedule, including the timing of approval of project design and construction plans.
The City was not successful in finding a purchase for the project either.
