Former North Dakota Public Service Commissioner Tony Clark was sworn in last week as a Commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Clark fills the position left vacant after the departure of Marc Spitzer, who resigned in December 2011.
President Obama has announced his intent to nominate Cheryl A. LaFleur as the Commissioner of FERC and reappoint Philip D. Moeller for another term.
If confirmed by the Senate, LaFleur would fill the position left vacant after Suedeen Kelly left the Commission earlier this year.
According to the White House,
President Obama has nominated John R. Norris, Chief of Staff for Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, to serve as the Commissioner at FERC.
Norris served as the Chairman of Iowa Utilities Board for five years prior to serving as Secretary Vilsack’s Chief of Staff. As a member of National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) he worked on the Electricity Committee and was Co-Chair of the 2009 National Electricity Delivery Forum. Norris has also served as a member of the Demand Response Collaborative between FERC and NARUC.
